Mental Illness, BLAH!

“Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of, but stigma and bias shame us all.”

Do you remember the time(s) when you held your tiny baby those first few hours in the hospital, and you thought of all of the hopes and dreams that you had for that sweet little bundle of joy? Do you remember what it was like to look down at that little face while watching them sleep? Do you remember the time you brought them home from the hospital the first time and while riding in the back seat with them you were so nervous that you wouldn't make it home safe. Do you remember the first time your baby "saw" you, I mean really "saw" you? How about the times your baby smiled for the first time? Do you remember when life was so simple? Do you remember that first day of Kindergarten, and you felt that melancholy feeling of letting them go on their own? Do you remember that first time they rec'ved an award for being so great, which you already knew but now the whole school knew? Do you remember the first time they thought they were so great? Do you remember the first time they learned how to ride their bike all by themselves and how proud they were of themself? Do you remember when they got so angry at themself that they wanted to hurt themself? I hope not. My heart is very sore right. I'm experiencing that and hope that I can get things sorted. Wish me luck on an adventure and rollercoaster ride of the thing we call "Mental Illness."
